Blondie Has a Cookbook Obsession.
- My First Cookbook {This is a cookbook with a 1959 copyright date offered by Imperial Pure Cane Sugar. My sister and I sent away for this cookbook when we were about 6 and 8 years old. We shared this cookbook and wrote our names in it proudly. I noticed as I was looking at it the other day that at some point she wrote over our joint names and put hers in red pen. Who has the last laugh? I guess that would be me since it is in MY collection. And no I am not giving her visitation rights.}
- Every Day Italian by Giada de Laurentiis.
- The Good Home Cookbook - More than 1000 Classic American Recipes. {I have a habit of blog surfing and I love to surf cooking blogs. In one of my surfing I came across a blog that was offering this book for FREE to the first 1000 to send an email in with their address. All that the editor asked in exchange was to pass the word along about the book once I had a chance to read and use the book. I do enjoy this book very much.
- The Martha Stewart Cookbook
- Martha Stewart's Baking Handbook
- The Martha Stewart Living Cookbook
- Martha Stewart Living Annual Recipes 2002
- Martha Stewart Living Annual Recipes 2003 {as you can see I like the Martha Stewart Cookbooks. They have never disappointed. There are still a couple I don't own. I gotta work on fixing that soon.}
- Hershey's Best-Loved Recipes {given to me by the son-in-law before he was, for Christmas. He gets my obsession with cookbooks. I come by it naturally and have passed this obsession on to my daughter}
- Betty Crocker International Cookbook {This is among the first cookbooks I bought after I got married. It has been used for various favorite recipes over the past 20 plus years. I bet the X would like to get his hands on this cookbook as there are recipes within that he absolutely enjoyed. SO not gonna happen.}
- Betty Crocker Cooky Book {I remember as a child pouring over this cookbook for hours. My favorite pages were 56 & 57. Although this book has been recently reprinted my copy is a first edition - fourth printing. It was a gift from my momma who searched for it on ebay. She knew how much I would love it and she was right. I absolutely LOVE it.}
- The Joy of Cooking {What Cookbook collection is complete without this book?}
- Claud Mann's Dinner & a Movie Cookbook. {This cookbook came about from the TBS show Dinner & a Movie. It is quite a fun read and follows the format of the show which makes for a delightful cookbook.}

Great collection Blondie.
I have the Joy of Cooking as well, plus the *Ukrainian* version - which is every self respecting Ukrainian girl must have Traditional Ukrainian Cooking By Savella Stechishin.

Add in the American Heart Association's Low Salt Cook book.

I am going to guess that these 13 are just the tip of the iceberg
LOL
I use to love cooking but don't anymore (well I do, but just for me).
I love the Bonnie Stern Hearthealthy cookbooks, T, you should look into those books, they are awesome...
My mom gave me a couple of wonderful cookbooks....Betty Crooker and another Canadian cookbook (don't remember the title) and I have a ton from when I was vegan.....
Good for you Blondie....I love cooking magazines too!
My mom renews subscriptions to Cooking for Two and Cooking Light for me every year.
I just don't do much cooking. Just a couple of favorite dishes.
I have added Chinese and Irish cookbooks. There are a ton of pampered chef mini cookbooks in the cupboard as well. I pick up about every other Taste of Home mini books at the check out as well.

LOL! There are at least 13 more not listed. Then there is the collection of Wilton Cake Decorating Yearbooks and Cooks Illustrated.
That being said I did weed 8 books out of the collection just this past week. That is either so that I don't have to move so many books or to make room for more. {see note on #8} That remains to be seen. heh heh!

T,
I don't have any low salt cookbooks but when I cook/bake I never add in the listed measurement. I almost always cut it by half. I have yet to see that practice ruin a recipe. We could ask Rudy. He has eaten my cooking and baking.

Lily,
I love cooking magazines too. I always buy Cooks Illustrated. I often buy Martha Stewart. {yeah, shes not entirely cooking but there is always food in the issue.} I buy an occasional Bon Appétit, Gourmet, Food & Wine and Saveur.
I love it when Rudy comes to visit because I then have someone to cook for. Otherwise I don't get very creative or fancy for just myself and the kid.

The Pampered Chef booklets.. LOVE Those too.
I have two great encyclopedia cookbooks that were my mom's. One is a big fat green book in which I can find all my childhood favourites just by the greasy pages, and the other is a 12 volume set. They are both so 1950s. Not sure I'd actually ever use them, they are sentimental.
I LOVE having dinner parties and cooking, but I am no baker. That's what *bakeries* are for! LOL
T
T,
I have to admit you are an awesome cook, chef, wizard of the kitchen!! and you make the best beer/? soup and caesar salad...YUMMYYYYYY
Lily
My friend Karoline loves to cook for dinner parties too. The new house I helped move them into is great for that.
I love visiting blondie, mmmmmmm
Oh yeah, the food is great too! and no, I have not noticed the reduction in salt. Everything tastes fantastic to me.
I am with blondie, just not into cooking productions for just myself. We did discover that a bachelor shortcut I make with the Irish Guinness stew should not be used any more LOL
