Happy New Year! Party Time!

The New Year lies before you
Like a spotless tract of snow
Be careful how you tread on it
For every mark will show.

*********************************************************

An optimist stays up until midnight
to see the new year in.
A pessimist stays up
to make sure the old year leaves.

love and hugs to you all,

The past several years our parish priest ended the year with Eucharistic Adoration at 11 p.m. followed by Mass at midnight. I provided music for these events.

I really liked it. It was special to end the year reflectively, prayerfully, quietly and to start the new year praying for peace on earth.

Jan 1 is a Holy Day in the Roman Catholic Church. The new priest will have the vigil mass at 7 tonight.

I am not sure what I am going to do with this New Year's Eve. maybe go to bed early since the Outback Bowl in which the Badgers will be playing comes on at 7 a.m. local tomorrow. LOL

Happy New Year everyone.

Síocháin agus beir beannacht - Peace and all good.

You are going to go to bed early? On NYE? HA!

Maybe if you decide to stay up we could play scrabble, eh?

you two crack me up. Virtual scrabble... one of these nights I'll have to crowd my way into a game...

For the first time in a few years.. I'll be going to our liturgy on new years day. It's the St Basil's Liturgy... ( extra long by Eastern Rite standards) which celebrates the circumcision of Jesus.(of all things!) I don't have to be there til 11 AM though. Being in church these days does help I feel close to my mom and grandma.(my baba) .. both strong women who are watching over us even more so these days.

Happy Healthy 2008. That's all I ask. That's all I want for my family and my dear friends.
HUGS my friend... HUGS.

T - we would love to have you join us. With all these word-smiths around I am sure to take a pounding but blondie will tell you I am a good sport and have fun all the way down LOL.

I did have a bit of beginners luck and managed to squeak out a win over blondie and eng-lit-teacher-daughter (personally, I think they were pitying me) :-)

blondie has clobbered me quite soundly since then.

We have fun. that is what counts.

LMAO! Maybe we did take pity on you. Maybe we didn't. giggle

I did have a good win once though.

We do have fun.

T, We will have to hook you up with the CD so we can all play.
