It Begins.

It is the first day of school. The kid has phoned twice now and I dropped him off less than 30 minutes ago. In this last call I can hear in the background the restless chattering of my son and his friends. Then laughter. Then "no, seriously." I say "what?"

I wait patiently for the next crisis. What else am I gonna do? My day is just not complete without at least one or two crisis. I am just used to the wedding variety lately. This should be new and fun, right?

The kid finally says, through his laughter "mom, they have me scheduled for TWO English classes. PSA English and Honors English 4." I shake my head. This is so typical of this school. In his first call this morning he informs me that a room meant to hold no more than 100 people, is crowded with what he believes is about 300. Incredulously I respond with "they have screwed up THAT many schedules???" He just laughs and says "of course they have and probably more."

We are obviously off to a wonderful start.

*I roll my eyes*

oh my goodness... poor kid... poor mom!
And my little one had the exact opposite experience... the only decent thing her father, the teacher managed since she is attending the school where he works.
So he "fixed" her class schedule so she has the 'best" - in his opinion- teachers for grade 9. Whatever.
Sounds like she had a good day for her first day...

hope they fix things for the boy!
Deep breaths and get ready to get the rant on...
Kids who have parents who are on top of things, and the schools know they are on top of things... get things done..
And yeah... Rudy is right... it's not Monday!
lol
drink time yet?
